Tether, known for its stablecoin USDT and Tether Gold (XAUT), announced on Friday (19) its expansion to the TON network (The Open Network), a blockchain that has been adopted by Telegram. This move is a significant step for Tether, expanding its presence to a total of 15 networks, including Ethereum, Tron, Solana and Avalanche.

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, highlighted that this expansion will facilitate value transfers and increase activity and liquidity on the network, offering users a financial experience comparable to that of the traditional system.

The TON Foundation reported that users will soon be able to withdraw compatible fiat currencies directly to bank accounts or cards. Additionally, 11 million Toncoin were designated as an incentive for the adoption of USDT on the network, for a limited time.

At the same time, TON and its cryptocurrency, Toncoin, are experiencing exponential growth. Toncoin price reached $7.20 per unit, reflecting optimism surrounding the network. TON has also shown interest in memecoins, launching a “virtual cultural hub” for these assets in its ecosystem.

Through “The Open League” program, TON offers incentives to users, who can participate in a competition for rewards. There are three categories: easy, intermediate and expert, allowing participants to choose the one that best suits their skills.

It’s important to note that while memecoins are a growing trend, many are based on internet jokes and can be volatile. However, the TON Foundation also allows users to create their own memecoins without the need for coding experience by offering open-source templates and custom options.

After creating the token, developers must choose the future it will have, for example, launching it through a pre-sale or through airdrops, or giving it some use by creating a “mini application” on Telegram .
