The Polygon PoS chain stood out with notable growth in late 2023. After a year of modest results, the network saw a significant increase in both the value of its native token, MATIC, and the sales volume of its NFTs.
In December 2023, the Today In Polygon account, dedicated to network coverage, revealed in a December 31 tweet that Polygon PoS’s monthly NFT sales volume had reached over $47 million. This number represents the peak since February 2023, signaling a growing interest in the platform and its digital assets.

Among the collections of NFTs that drove this rise, those related to Gas Hero stand out, an MMO Web3 game developed by Find Satoshi Labs, the same creators of the popular Stepn. The GasHeroBadge collection was the most successful, raising an impressive $15.8 million. GasHeroCoupon followed closely, with sales of US$13.6 million. This game, not yet released, has gained considerable momentum thanks to promotional giveaway campaigns in recent weeks.
These numbers are a reflection of the enthusiasm of investors and NFT enthusiasts, even in the face of a variable panorama in the cryptocurrency market. Despite excellent performance in December, the Polygon network ranked fourth in NFT sales volume, behind major players such as Solana, Ethereum and Bitcoin.
This recent success of Polygon PoS and its NFTs suggests significant potential for the network in the future. At the time of publication, the price of MATIC was quoted at US$1.01, up 2% in the last 24 hours.
