In conversation with Prince Filip of Serbia, the president of Madeira, Portugal, Miguel Albuquerque, announced plans to implement a cutting-edge Bitcoin (BTC) business center. The announcement took place during Bitcoin Amsterdam 2023.
The initiative foresees the promotion of innovation, using the full potential of Bitcoin to improve the quality of life, technology, health and education for the residents of Madeira. Albuquerque highlighted: “Everything related to Bitcoin is welcome in Madeira”.
“The association was created to develop the development of technology and Bitcoin, and all the connections and partnerships you can have,” said Albuquerque and added: “It all started with some guys from Madeira who work very hard and it is open to everyone who want to collaborate.”
Still on the occasion, the president highlighted the future vision for the region: “We are changing our [base] economic for technological companies, high technology, artificial intelligence and Bitcoin, of course”.
