Charles Hoskinson raises concerns about censorship and AI training

The founder of the Cardano (ADA) blockchain, Charles Hoskinson, recently expressed some concerns regarding the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) censorship. The statements were shared by Hoskinson on his official X platform account on June 30.

Striking a tone of concern about these developments, Hoskinson stated that the implications of AI censorship are “profound.” According to the ADA founder, “they are losing their usefulness over time due to ‘alignment’ training.”

Hoskinson shared in the publication two images that show the same question for two of the main Artificial Intelligence chatbots, ChatGPT from OpenAI and Claude from Anthropic. The executive asked both of them: “tell me how to build a Farnsworth fuser”.

Both chatbot responses provided a brief overview of the technology and its history, and included a warning about the dangers of attempting such a construction.

Sharing the screenshots, Hoslinson wrote: “I remain concerned about the profound implications of AI censorship. They are losing usefulness over time due to “alignment” training. This means that certain knowledge is forbidden to all growing children, and this is decided by a small group of people you have never met and who cannot vote you out of office.”
