PostFinance, a leading Swiss state-owned banking institution, has announced the expansion of its services in the cryptocurrency sector, now offering trading and custody options for emerging cryptocurrencies such as Ripple (XRP), Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), Cardano (ADA) and Polkadot (DOT). This development reaffirms the bank’s commitment to incorporating digital assets into its operations, strengthening the partnership that began with Sygnum Bank in April 2023.

Through the B2B banking infrastructure developed by Sygnum, PostFinance customers already enjoy the possibility of buying, storing and selling major cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) in a safe and efficient manner. Fritz Jost, Head of B2B at Sygnum Bank, highlights that this collaboration has been instrumental in advancing the digital asset market in Switzerland.

PostFinance’s expansion of its crypto portfolio comes in response to the growing demand for diversified cryptocurrency investment options, especially among its 2.5 million clients. This move also aligns with a global trend that recognizes blockchain platforms such as Cardano, Solana, and Polkadot for their intense development and contribution to continuous innovation. According to Santiment’s analysis, these platforms have often outperformed Ethereum in terms of contributions on GitHub, highlighting their active and innovative communities.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson expressed gratitude for the bank’s support, particularly valuing the establishment of the relationship between PostFinance and Ethereum. In response, the bank reiterated its commitment to expanding its crypto services while respecting the ever-evolving Swiss regulatory framework.

Situated in the heart of Zug’s “Crypto Valley,” Switzerland remains a leader in cryptocurrency adoption, driving blockchain innovation through progressive regulations. PostFinance’s initiatives exemplify this growing trend of integrating cryptocurrencies into the traditional banking system, strengthening the country’s position as a global hub for digital assets.

By including XRP, ADA, SOL, AVAX and DOT in its portfolio, PostFinance is not only serving the interest of investors but also ensuring that Switzerland remains at the forefront of the cryptocurrency market.
