Over the past three months, collections of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) like Cryptopunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), for example, have seen a notable drop in value. Meanwhile, Bitcoin managed to maintain investor optimism with its sideways trading between $60K and $72K.

NFT sales have been slow this year, and the previously renowned “blue chip” NFTs on Ethereum, specifically Cryptopunks and BAYC, have experienced a substantial drop in value over the past three months.

About 90 days ago, the minimum value of a single Cryptopunk was approximately 48.99 ETH. On March 17, one Ether was worth $3,642. The drop in the value of Ethereum was accompanied by a significant drop in the minimum value of Cryptopunks in ETH, which decreased by 48% in 90 days. Similarly, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs took a hit, although their losses were less severe than those of Cryptopunks.

BAYC NFTs lost 33.1% of their value when priced in the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The minimum value of the BAYC collection was 13.29 ETH 90 days ago, but on June 18, it dropped to 8.89 ETH.

NFTs on the decline

The Pudgy Penguins NFT collection saw a 20.5% drop over the same period, while Milady Maker NFTs experienced a surge. Three months ago, the minimum value of Milady Maker was 2.04 ETH, and today it rose to 4.73 ETH.

Azuki NFTs decreased from 3.64 ETH to the current 3.05 ETH. While ETH-based NFTs have seen declines, digital collectibles from other blockchains have also experienced declines over the past three months.

Bitcoin Nodemonkes, for example, dropped from 0.7374 BTC to 0.18 BTC, and Bitcoin Puppets decreased from 0.23 BTC to the current 0.11 BTC. Quantum Cats dropped from 0.339 BTC to the current low of 0.26 BTC.
